Gleaning

A woman in the Old Testament supported herself and her mother-in-law, by gleaning.  Her name was Ruth.
She would work in the wheatfields for her boss during the day. After the work was done, she would gather up the small grains of wheat and gather enough for family to eat bread and other meals involving wheat.

How many times have your parents said, the food leftover on your plate could feed kids in India.  Well, save your leftovers for another meal or snack.  Or use them to make other creative dishes.  I once made a tart out of raisin bran that was left at the bottom of the box.
