Gleaning

A woman in the Old Testament supported herself and her mother-in-law, by gleaning.  Her name was Ruth.
She would work in the wheatfields for her boss during the day. After the work was done, she would gather up the small grains of wheat and gather enough for family to eat bread and other meals involving wheat.

How many times have your parents said, the food leftover on your plate could feed kids in India.  Well, save your leftovers for another meal or snack.  Or use them to make other creative dishes.  I once made a tart out of raisin bran that was left at the bottom of the box.

Coupons

After you you have done your menu planning, or maybe in conjuction with your menu planning. Go through the Sunday paper and Wednesday paper and other mailers with coupons, and look for good deals on the stuff you want to eat, drink or use.  Some people organize them by product category and or expiration date.
Also check online to each manufacturer and see if they have any online printable coupons.  I-phones now have coupons on them from various manufacturers with their special applications.

Stay away from some conglomerated coupon sites as they have all kinds of malware, adware, and viruses that will mess up your computer, if you're not aware of what's happening.

In some communities, some stores might have double and triple coupon days. Make sure to take advantage of those.

There is a cable TV show, now called Extreme Couponing.  It shows big drama of a checkout, where the savings comes up big with total costs down 91 - 98 % off.

Cleanliness

As I mentioned under organization, it is imperative to have cleanliness and order in order to  receive inspiration to save money.  When fibers of clothing and carpet are clean they last longer. When cracks in wood, caulking, equipment gather dirt they gather rust, mold, and begin the decomposition process.

Revelation 22:11  He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Leviticus 13:40 And the man whose hair is fallen off his head, he is bald; yet is he clean.  - Just a little humor, since I am bald.

2 Kings 5:13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some agreat thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

Cleanliness is next to Godliness
